What we collect

When you request a review, we collect: your name and email address, your property's state, the loan and property context you provide (timeline, occupancy, first-time buyer status, household income range, and any notes), and the Loan Estimate or quote document you upload. We do not collect Social Security numbers, dates of birth, or credit reports, and we never pull your credit.

How we use it

Your information is used to review and grade your quote, deliver your report card by email, and respond if you contact us. If you opt into rate watch, we retain your loan's key details (rate, loan amount, loan type, and state) to notify you if market conditions would meaningfully improve on your loan. If you ask to speak with a loan officer, your information is used to have that conversation.

Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. Your information may be shared with participating licensed lenders or loan officers only to provide you with competing offers, and only consistent with the consent you gave when submitting. We also use service providers (such as secure hosting and email delivery) who process data on our behalf under confidentiality obligations. We may disclose information if required by law.

How we protect it

Documents are transmitted over encrypted connections and stored in private, access-controlled storage. Uploaded documents are never sent as email attachments. Access is limited to the licensed loan officers completing your review.

Retention

Uploaded documents are deleted within 90 days of your review unless your loan moves forward with us, in which case documents are maintained in our loan origination system under standard regulatory retention requirements. If you opted into rate watch, we retain your loan's key details until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete them.

Your choices

You can unsubscribe from rate watch emails at any time using the link in any email. You can request deletion of your documents and information by emailing privacy@grademyloan.com — we'll complete deletion requests within 10 business days. California residents may have additional rights under the CCPA, including the right to know, delete, and correct personal information; contact us at the same address to exercise them.
